Dr. Omobolanle “Bola” Fenny
Dr. Omobolanle “Bola” Fenny received her Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) from the University of Benin, B.L. from Nigerian Law School, M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2018. Bola is a member of both the Alabama State Bar and the Nigerian Bar Association. She lectured at the University of Texas in Arlington, Penn State University, Troy University before joining the University of Alabama’s Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2023.
She teaches Race, Ethnicity and Crime, History of Crime and Justice, and Research Methods. She is also a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Her research interests include Juvenile Delinquency, Gender, Race and Crime, Domestic Violence, International Criminology, and Religion. Her publications appear in the International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology and the Journal of Interpersonal Violence. Bola has been engaged in the practice of law and is currently of counsel with this Firm.
